A Solution for Virtual Schooling, THE Working
Parent, & TODAYS NEW "NORMAL"
Are you a working parent who cannot get anything done while your children are at home 'schooling'? What is a working parent to do when the schools are not open for you to work in peace? The solution is to give your children the space they need to work in a quiet, socially distanced atmosphere with supervision and, when needed, provide the help that teachers cannot supply virtually. In addition, since virtual classes are only half day, we will be offering additional enrichment afternoon programs. Read below for more information.
*Children must be enrolled in Kindergarten to participate in the program.
LEARNING LAB
(Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 2:30pm)
We provide a clean, safe, quiet, productive space, guided by our team of SFK Tutors.
Your child's schedule will be followed to be sure that he/she is taking class on his/her device and any virtual meetings are kept and followed. Homework and Classwork will be followed up with based on your guidance. Please supply ear buds, headphones, or any personal listening device.

The first priority is homework and education. Each day, students will learn time management skills when budgeting their time between classes and homework.
Our team
SFK instructors are energetic, highly trained adults who care for your child's physical well-being, education and emotional security. They will be there to assist with classwork and homework during Learning Lab hours and teach during the extended Enrichment Camp!
Staff members undergo a thorough background check each year. Our instructors are adults who take safety seriously and commit to isolating to slow the spread.

Finished with Classwork and Homework?
If there's downtime in your child's day, we will be providing a selection of STEAM activities to encourage off-screen time and productive options. From crafts to science experiments, these activities allow for self-sufficiency and socially-distanced fun!
Each activity will either be for strictly one child or thoroughly sanitized between use according to CDC regulations.
AFTER-SCHOOL camp
Stand alone, or added to Learning Lab
(Monday - Friday, 2:30pm - 5:30pm)
This is not a day care but a professionally lead, skill-enhancing camp. This program is perfect if you need more time in the afternoon to get what you need done, or if you simply want your child to learn new skills and experience creative & active time after a morning of being online. These daily mini camps will be split up into three different activities lead by our skilled instructors to ensure high-quality classes.
This enrichment time will include activities such as:

*If your child needs more time for homework, we will give the option to opt out of the third enrichment activity and set aside a quiet space with a team member supervising to finish up homework/get extra help as needed!

First come, first-served. The SFK studio is capped per room square footage. Once enrollment has reached its max, no other students may enroll for that particular day. Refunds are not available for unused days. Credit is available with ONE WEEK withdrawal notice. Rates are per student.
If your child's school resumes to in-person classes, any unused, pre-paid tuition will be applied to your account as credit to be used by July 2021 for regular classes or Summer/Winter/Spring Camps at SFK.
1 week notice is required for credit.
Withdrawal
Due to the limited spacing available for this program, at least 7 days notice is required for withdrawal under every circumstance. If someone in your household becomes afflicted with COVID-19, or thinks they may, a credit may be issued with proof of testing and students may not return until all members of household are tested and COVID-free.
Unused tuition will be credited to your account for use until July 2021, including use for regular classes and SFK Summer/Spring/Winter Camps.
Faqs
What if my child finishes class earlier than 2:00pm? Is there a half-day option?
Due to high demand and limited space, we currently do not have a half-day option; however, if your child finishes class earlier, we will be proving STEAM activity kits to keep them engaged, busy, and off-screen! Time will be set aside each day for outside snack and lunch. They may also use the extra time for homework and get assistance from our certified team as well.You also are more than welcome to arrange early pick-up as needed.
How will you accommodate individual Zoom meetings?
We're happy to help students manage their Zoom calls! We will keep accounting of every student's appointments. Daily, our staff will help each student prepare for their meeting times and give them a quiet place to focus on the teacher and lesson.
Will someone be there to assist with Classwork/Homework?
Absolutely! Our premier staff will be there to help with any classwork or homework. Everything from reading to writing to math, our high-quality instructors are able to tutor students in any subject in any grade.
Will there be outside time?
Definitely! We will take all students at staggered times outside twice daily. This will allow for a snack time, lunch time, sunshine and fresh air! We are excited to utilize Runway Playa Vista's brand new outdoor area for activities such as outdoor sports and other Physical Education.

The following is a detailed description of the protocols we will be following at our So Fly Kids, Inc. Learning Lab and Enrichment Arts Camp. We will be following the LA County Day-Camp Protocol found here and the ACA field guide found here. This program begins August 18, 2020 and will run Monday through Friday, 8:30-2:30 (Learning Lab Only) and 2:30-5:30 (Enrichment Arts Camp).
Our facility has been deep cleaned (CDC certified) and will continue weekly. Medical Grade Filtration H13 True HEPA air purifiers have been installed throughout.
*SFK is proud to announce that we have a Registered Nurse that has led our staff in proper training to ensure maximum safety procedures for students and faculty.*
Summary of Daily Camp Safety Practices:

Special staff training by a registered nurse will be given to all SFK staff on covid-19 sanitization, best practices, and other safety measures.

Drop-off and pick-up will be directly at the studio, and spaced out with social distancing markers.

NO parents or outsiders allowed in our facility, strictly students and staff.

Masks and face shields will be required by all staff, all day.
-
Pods of 4 will be kept socially distanced with the use of partitions.

Masks for students and parents will be required to check-in/out and required for students throughout the day, except for outside snack and lunch time.

Wellness screenings for students and staff will be taken at the start of each day, including touchless thermometer readings.

A touchless hand washing station will be placed at the entrance of our facility.

Touchless hand sanitizer will be placed throughout the facility.

Activities will be adjusted to have little to no contact.

Materials will rarely be shared, if they need to be, they will be thoroughly sanitized

Handwashing will take place before and after every activity.

Hospital grade disinfectant will be used on the entire facility, including before/after each activity.

Lunch and snack items will not be shared amongst students.
