Music FunTime™ is more than a playgroup where children sing, dance, jump, and play instruments
Music Classes for Preschoolers engineered by Music FunTime is an innovative, structured, and progressive curriculum derived from Johns-Hopkins Research exploring the magical connection between math & science through music for children newborn thru 7 years of age. Children learn to read music notation, rhythms and symbols, and play the instruments of their choosing.
Through small preschool, kindergarten & early elementary group music classes in a classroom atmosphere, children use musical crafts, worksheets, games and instruments in a fun exciting way to explore and nurture a strong music foundation which becomes a way of life, thus, gaining all the benefits of uniting both hemispheres of the brain.
Did you ever consider the skills your child uses when he/she sings a song such as "This Old Man?"
Your child is:
Matching and comparing (through pitch, volume and rhythm)
Patterning and sequencing (through melody, rhythm and lyrics)
Counting numbers and adding
Music is considered a right brain activity, while Math is a left brain activity. When combined, the child is holistically engaged not only in the realm of thinking, but in all the other domains of social, emotional, creative, language and physical development. Together they make a complete developmental package.
Parents are constantly amazed at how their children develop these skills so quickly. Children become more confident, communicative and attentive, in addition to a growing appetite and appreciation for various types of music and musical instruments. You and your child will look forward to continuing on the journey of discovery and learning with Music FunTime.

Math & Music – A Powerful Force for Learning
Students who participate in our group Music Fun Time (MFT) classes receive an unparalleled music education early on. As part of our MFT class, our students get the opportunity to experiment with different instruments and choose what they like best while simultaneously learning their music fundamentals. After completing the course, students are encouraged to continue their musical growth by taking private lessons on their instrument of choice. This allows students to receive personalized instruction and the attention and encouragement they need to thrive.
Private lessons give the student the opportunity to learn at their own pace so they don’t miss key points. This also means that the teacher does not have to teach a class at a middle-of–the-road level, but has the time and focus to work on the individual student’s strengths and weaknesses. For that lesson period, the student is the primary focus of the teacher. For that reason, we recommend no more than 30 minute private lessons, to keep our students engaged, and excited to learn.

Piano is often regarded as the mother of all modern instruments. On piano, students can immediately learn note reading and apply the music theory concepts learned from their Music FunTime class! Our curriculum empowers students to play a variety of fun musical pieces right from the start. Piano is recommended for students 5 and up, as it is an easier instrument for younger students to get started on. Knowledge of piano provides an excellent foundation for students to pick up other instruments later on!
7 Years & Up
*Ages 5 -6 would do a VOICE + PIANO combo lesson
We offer instruction in various styles from rock to classical, jazz and pop. Students will learn proper breathing technique, how to increase their range, music theory, proper pitch, ear training, how to project, and stage presence. Equally as important is building up their self-confidence, to make them strong performers and individuals. Class time can also be used to prepare for upcoming auditions to a play, show or to prepare for a performance.
*Due to the physical nature of voice lessons (proper breathing techniques, development of the vocal chords and lung capacity), 7 years old is recommended as the youngest age for private vocal lessons.
But we can do 1/2 voice, 1/2 piano lesson for ages 5 - 7yrs.

private lesson policies
THANK YOU for studying music with us! Our teachers reserve time on their schedules, plan lessons, and invest in the long-term development of each student. To provide regular, quality lessons we ask that the following policies are observed. We want every student to receive every lesson. We love hearing our students become better musicians and we want you and your students to enjoy making music as much as we do.
Tuition is billed automatically every month to the card you have on file and includes one lesson per week. This will secure a recurring weekly time on your teacher’s schedule. Most months will have 4 lessons. Some will have 5 and some will have 3 (during the holidays). This does not affect the monthly rate.
Tuition is not adjusted for missed or canceled lessons.
We believe consistency is the most important thing to learning a instrument and indeed ensures continued progress. If you have to miss a lesson, your teacher will create a complete online makeup just for you! This will entail a review of last weeks lesson as well as new concepts to work on for the week ahead. All this will be done via LessonMate, an app made just for makeups. A link to your makeup will be emailed to you as a reminder."
In the occasional event of a teacher absence, we will provide a qualified substitute. The opportunity to work with a different teacher can be a great benefit, so our billing and attendance policies still apply.
Lessons cannot be discontinued in the middle of a billing cycle.
To suspend or discontinue lessons and payments, the front desk (not your teacher) needs to be notified prior to the 15th of the month for the month to follow.
30 minutes per week = $150 / month
