DANCE WITH ME! 16M-2Y (AS OF 9/30/2026)
A Parent & Me class for our tiniest dancers! This class blends dance, music, singing, and imagination, while building coordination, rhythm, balance, listening skills, and an early love of movement, and creative self-expression. We will introduce bending, stretching, swaying, and progress to loco motor movements such as, marching, galloping, jumping, as well as pre-ballet/jazz/hip-hop and tumbling skills, through the use of sing-along songs and lots of fun props. *One adult per child may participate. BALLET BABIES (2.5 - 3.5Y AS OF 9/30/26)
We will get our little dancers moving with an introduction to ABT & Royal Academy of Dance inspired pre-ballet technique, combined with an intro to jazz and tap. Proper ballet technique and terminology will be introduced through imagery, creative dances, props, and fun!

HIP-HOP TUMBLING TOTS 2.5-3Y & HIP-HOP KIDS 3.5-5 (AS OF 9/30/2026)
Our little dancers will begin to explore Hip-Hop dance through body isolated movements, bouncing, jumping, and basic hip-hop choreography. We will also explore basic tumbling skills that will help with strength and hip-hop style ‘tricks.’
*Dance bag and SFK Dresscode Tshirt are included in registration fee.

COMBO KIDS (Ages 3.5-4.5) & MINI COMBO (Ages 5-6) (Ballet/Tap/Jazz) (AS 0F 9/30/26)
We expand upon basic rhythm, coordination, and timing and begin to emphasize posture, and technique within a positive environment. Dancers learn fundamental ballet, tap and jazz steps and terminology in all three styles. The majority of this class is ballet focused, with the first 10 - 15 minutes spent on tap. Students should arrive to class wearing tap shoes. Teachers will assist dancers with shoe changes.

FAIRYTALE THEATRE Ages 3-5 (AS OF 9/30/26)
Watch your child shine on stage as we bring favorite stories, old and new, to life! Designed especially for ages 3–5, Fairytale Theatre blends the magic of storytelling with movement, music, and imaginative play. Young performers will develop foundational dance and theatre skills while exploring acting, voice, and creative movement, all while building confidence and having fun. This class nurtures creativity and introduces little ones to the joy and excitement of performing!

ACRO KIDS Ages 3.5-5 (AS OF 9/30/26)
An introductory class where we will focus on learning Acro positions, locomotive skills, balance, and movement concepts through imaginary play, fun and games. By the end of the season the dancers will be able to correctly perform pre-cartwheels, L handstands, and somersaults, and will be ready to move up to our Primary Acrobatic Arts program where they will work their way up to handstands, cartwheels, and walkovers, and eventually, back-handsprings, and ariels effortlessly across the stage! This is a great stand-alone class for boys and girls, and is a fantastic addition to any dancer’s training.

ACRO (Acrobatic Arts) Ages 5-16 (AS OF 9/30/26)
Acrobatic Arts is based on safe and effective progressions with proven results in five divisions of AcroDance: Flexibility, Strength, Balancing, Limbering and Tumbling. Developed with input from professionals and experts in dance, contortion, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, sport acrobatics, yoga, acro yoga, pilates, physiotherapy, and more, you will not find a more comprehensive program. Simple thoughtful progressions take the beginner preschool level dancer from log rolls and somersaults to the advanced dancer doing back handsprings, ariels, and tumbling effortlessly across the stage! This is a great stand-alone class for boys and girls, a fantastic addition to any dancer’s advanced training, and a required class for our SFK Performance Team. Click HERE for Acro I-V dress code
JAZZ Ages 5-15 (AS OF 9/30/2026)
A high energy, technique based style of dance, that combines classic broadway jazz with ethnic styles, contemporary and hip hop. We focus on core strength, flexibility, isolations, leaps, and turns to fast paced, contemporary music such as pop, R&B/Hip-Hop, or Broadway. Jazz classes are a great work-out and a fun way to release tension while attaining a body awareness that can be applied to everyday activities.
*JAZZ/HIP-HOP & JAZZ FUNK include all of the above, with more concentration on age appropriate versions of the pop-culture, fun and trendy routines of today.

HIP-HOP Ages 5-15 (AS OF 9/30/2026)
Hip-Hop dance is a fun-filled and energetic class. The fundamentals of old, and new-school hip-hop dance will be taught including, warm-up, stretching, and hip-hop skills & tricks, to precisely choreographed routines. As students progress through our program, choreography will become more complex and intricate.

MUSICAL THEATRE! Age 5 & Up (AS OF 9/30/2026)
In this dance-based musical theatre class, students bring familiar stories and movies to life on stage while developing foundational dance and musical theatre skills, including acting, improv, voice, and group choreography. Our previous on-stage adaptations have included favorites from Annie, Grease, Descendants, Peter Pan, and K-Pop Demon Hunters, to name a few.

THE BALLET ACADEMY/CLASSICAL BALLET Ages 5-15 (AS OF 9/30/2026)
The Ballet Academy at SFK Academy of Dance provides dancers with a solid base for all dance styles. Students will learn classical ballet technique and terminology. Each class includes barre exercises, centre floor work, and across-the-floor combinations. Our structured ballet curriculum is a combination of Vaganova, Cecchetti and Balanchine styles. As students progress through each level, the curriculum will become increasingly more complex and intricate.
LYRICAL/CONTEMPORARY (Ages 7 & Up) (AS OF 9/30/2026)
Lyrical dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, and classical ballet. Students will learn to interpret music lyrics by telling a story with movement that can be fluid or abstract. Lyrical is the precursor to Contemporary dance which can be seen in music videos such as Sia’s “Chandelier,” and the Emmy award winning choreography from “So You Think You Can Dance.” We highly recommend that dancers enrolled in this class also take Ballet at least once a week.. TAP-Mini/1/2 (Various Ages) (AS OF 9/30/2026)
Tap is an exciting, rhythmic and dance form which is enjoyed by both kids and adults. Rooted in African-American History, tap offers a variety of styles and techniques like Broadway, rhythm tap & hoofing. Tap classes are designed to develop rhythm, style and sound. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement. Class emphasis is on developing proper tap technique, producing clear tap sounds, and having fun. As students’ progress through each level, the curriculum will become increasingly more complex and intricate. Click HERE for Tap dress code
