Our SFK Academy of Dance Teams focus on technique, performance, community, and character. This performance based program provides dancers with solid technical foundations and educates in the artistry of dance and performance. More importantly, it is an opportunity to work together as a Team, with a positive purpose, to build lasting friendships, be a part of a community, and to
CREATE, EMPOWER, AND INSPIRE.

What do we look for in a SFK Academy of Dance Team member?

  • Technically talented dancer, entertainer.
  • Ambassador/Representative of SFK Academy of Dance.
  • Positive, energetic, and dedicated, with a great personality.
  • Professional, team player.

Dance Commitment

*All dance requirements must be met at SFK Academy of Dance.

Dance Teams will meet once a week in their "Team Class" to work on dance technique and choreography for upcoming events. In addition,
 
Jr. & Sr. Dance Team* members are required to take 3 additional classes per week. ​
  • Jazz/Contemporary Fusion
  • Ballet
  • Acro
  • Hip-Hop or Tap (Optional)
*Sr. Team will extend an additional 20 minutes to work on advanced turns and leaps.

Mini Team will be required to take 2 additional classes per week. 
  • Classical Ballet 
  • Jazz
  • Acro, Hip-Hop or Tap (Optional)

ATTENDANCE

Attendance is an important part of maintaining a strong and productive Dance Team. Dancers are allowed to miss no more than 3 days per fall season unless pre-approved by SFK. 

Team building events

We work hard, but we play hard too! Offstage, our SFK Performance Team members participate in team building events held by the studio to build friendships and trust between team members. Plus... Who doesn't love pizza?!
