Our SFK Academy of Dance Teams focus on technique, performance, community, and character. This performance based program provides dancers with solid technical foundations and educates in the artistry of dance and performance. More importantly, it is an opportunity to work together as a Team, with a positive purpose, to build lasting friendships, be a part of a community, and to
CREATE, EMPOWER, AND INSPIRE.
What do we look for in a SFK Academy of Dance Team member?

Dance Commitment
*All dance requirements must be met at SFK Academy of Dance.
ALL Dance Teams will meet once a week in their "Team Class" to work on dance technique and choreography for upcoming events. In addition to their weekly TEAM CLASS,
Mini Team will be required to take 1 additional classes per week of either:

Acro, Ballet/Lyrical, Tap, or Hip-Hop.
Team members (invite only) are required to take 2 additional classes per week of either:
-
Acro, Jazz 1/2, Ballet/Lyrical, Tap, or Hip-Hop.
Our Advanced, Company members (invite only) are required to take 2 Team Technique Classes where there will rotate foundational jazz, ballet, and contemporary technique + 2 Team Choreography classes, and one additional class of their choice of either:

Hip-Hop 2, Acro 2, or Tap 1
ATTENDANCE
Attendance is an important part of maintaining a strong and productive Dance Team. Dancers are allowed to miss no more than 3 days per fall season unless pre-approved by SFK.
Team building events
We work hard, but we play hard too! Offstage, our SFK Performance Team members participate in team building events held by the studio to build friendships and trust between team members. Plus... Who doesn't love pizza?!
